The chicks are doing well. They're a week and a half old, and growing fast.
The gold wyandotte who hatched first is the tallest and bravest. She (we hope!) loves to try and climb up everything. The second hatched is blue, and she sticks by gold like glue. The last hatched is "Seven" who has two toes joined together. You may be able to see it in the picture (Seven is the middle chick below). She is quieter and slightly smaller than the other two. They all appear healthy and happy though.
The tips of the wings are growing feathers already. We'll need to start making a new home for them soon enough.
I've decided to try and get some more fertile eggs after Christmas and try again with the incubator. We've learned a lot and I think we can make the next hatch much more successful. :)
Until next time!
I checked your update the other day but forgot to comment. They're looking happy and healthy, doing what all chickadees love to do and that's explore with their beaks.
ReplyDeleteThey should look goregous when they come into their feathers. Lacing on chooks are amazing. :)
