Overwhelmed

Being honest, I don't like Marty working!! I'd rather have him home. Not only do I miss him, but progress on any kind of house project has slowed to a near halt. But plants keep growing...

These are indeed two little plants growing in what is suppose to be our bedroom. I can't believe they're growing in the rubble!! Amazing how strong nature is.

We have to start a list, perhaps? There are so many things to be done! We need to finish digging the floor in the lounge and bedrooms, re-point / re-mortar the bricks, plaster the wall, and somehow get a new wooden floor down..

I will just have to stop gardening and start renovating. ;)

My new garden bed! I did this in only 2 evenings. The railway sleepers? Lets just say that's "payment" for the constant noise of the machines that replaced them behind our house over the last 2 weeks. :p

(Yes, we snatched them. *blush* )

So, hopefully there will be more "home updates" than "garden updates" in the near future. I just have to get motivated.

  1. I understand. My husband's work is winding down, but it always gets ridiculous first by at least a few days.

  2. Hi Manda and Marty,

Thank you so much for including us in your blogroll. It feels like a real honour from you two enthusiastic and persistent converters-of-dreams-to-reality. Such energy!

I have read through may months of your posts, Manda - all fascinating - but this one caught my eye when you said "Being honest, I don't like Marty working!! I'd rather have him home."

Well, my Fiona has had an enforced stay at home for over a year and I LOVE IT. So much more companionship and doing things together, and bumping into each other throughout the day but we still maintain independent work lives. It's adorable.

Anyway, the very best of good luck to you guys. Hopefully when the building work is done you can then focus on growing your own and all that great stuff that you have started with your chooks and mini-garden. Top marks to you both.

    Best wishes,
    Danny
