Finally!

The heat has done nothing for our motivation to do anything gardening or renovating lately. I apologise for not keeping you updated anyway!

The garden is fighting every day to keep alive. The plants look dead by evening, I water them and they look better by the morning. By evening they're nearly dead again. I'm very much looking forward to the end of summer! Planting has slowed down - there's a few new beetroot under shade-cloth, but even they're having a difficult time of it.

We did get a marrow to eat, though! It tastes like a mild squash. We tried it steamed with a little margarine, and it was nice. There is another on the bush, and I will have to try and keep some seeds for planting next year, as these are rare - and I used all the seeds this season!

On a fun note, Marty organised last weekend for us to go away to Port Fairy for my Birthday! The weather is much cooler by the water - as you can see from the pic!

From Manda's Birthday Weekend

I've uploaded some of the better pictures to that album, so if you're interested in what we got up to, feel free to take a look. Otherwise, I will update soon with some kind of progress on the Old Miners Cottage. :)

Until next time!

  4. Good to know you are both still OK. Time to work is when the heat goes away.
