Sometimes I forget that this is the first time we've ever grown beans, carrots or beetroot. It's so exciting to see them do well, even in the heat of the summer. The beetroot is just starting to form the tasty part now, and it's leaves are looking lush!
The carrots aren't photogenic at all, but I managed to get this photo - look, real carrots and not weeds this time!
Oh, and the beans are just amazing. This little bean plant, who was eaten by earwigs in the springtime, has recovered enough to start producing actual beans! The others are still playing catch-up, but this, the biggest bean, is surprising me no end.
We have some shade-cloth to cover the corn for the really hot days from now on, so hopefully they'll all do a little better over the next few weeks, and I'll have a picture of them going crazy too. :)
The garden is looking good. The pic of the bug on the bean plant is a really good one
